Scandalous

Read Malin got it going on in the Big Brother house! And that she and the guy actually are the fastest ones to get busy in the history of the reality show.
Didn´t I tell you she was going to shake it and stir it?!

You go girls!

Malin will enter the Big Brother house

This evening a new season of reality show Big Brother Sweden/Norway starts and who´s in it if not cool and totally adorable make up artist Malin!
(picture from Kanal 5)

Have never been a fan of Big Brother but I´m really looking forward to follow Malins whereabouts in the house. Got the sweetest text from her the other day before she was getting in.
Good luck girl, just go, shake it and stir it!

Sex & the Sporty Spice
Tomorrow fellow blogger and inspiration Sporty Spice will appear as columnist in this countrys´ biggest morning paper! Now how cool isn´t that?!
Am looking forward to read about her escapades between her working out sessions.

It´s official - my pants hate me

Today the zipper on my JL-jeans broke. And I was at work getting ready to go to NK, take some pictures and then meet cousin M at the champagnebar. With a fucked up zipper.
Great.
Felt like screaming the old PSB-song out loud: what have I, what have I, what have I done to deserve this?!
Probably some unmentionable pant drama. Pant kharma is coming out to get me. Guess I´d be better off in skirts.

Now am going to watch dance reality show Let´s dance and then totally crash.

Moleskine or my Hemingway-ean complex

I´ve always had a fascination for Hemingway. Always. Can´t recall when it started but I was still a kid when I read For whom the bells toll and got blown away.
I guess it was this thing about this gringo being so macho and doing all that cool stuff; bullfighting, lionhunting, participating in real war, etc.

So I just couldn´t help myself when I saw this beautiful, sleek Moleskine notebook at NK. I just had to have it. Now I have another thing in common with one of my icons, besides our love for sugarcane spirits.

Additional text

Text from X today:
"I really meant what I said yesterday. You look great all over."

Keep it coming.
Vain, me? Naaaah.

A perfect...lie

Conversation with ex:
G: Be honest, you´ve known me forever - do I look sliten and old?
X: Not at all. You must be the one person I know who is the least, if not at all, affected by age.

As I´d say in Swedish: jäääääälp!

Undecent exposure or how to partyproof your pants

Yesterday when getting into the cab when going to uncle P for cousin M´s byebyeparty, MY PANTS RIPPED!!!

I just sat there and could not believe what had just happened, but the fact was that the garment had ripped all the way leaving a neat hole exposing my behind. And of course I wasn´t wearing briefs but the underwear that Sisqo sings about. Bummer. I could not stop laughing and had to tell my parents and the driver that we couldn´t go yet because an incident had happened and that I needed to go back and hide my back!

I laughed my arse off (literally) all the way to my parents apartment, just couldn´t believe it. Luckily it happened there and then and not when arriving at the party or at another place.

I checked my pants afterwards - satin pants from Day, f/w 2003 - and the seams actually were quite worn out. I love those pants and used them a lot when working at stiff place where the dresscode didn´t include jeans.

From now on, I´ll be extra careful and examine my pants before going out. Even though it made us all laugh a lot through the evening and considering I might sometimes be a show off - it´s just not my thing to show certain parts of myself in that way, hahaha.

80´s moment

Yesterday my cousin throwed a great bash celebrating his 35th-birthday and today I woke up feeling like five kinds of shit. I should really considering stop the party smoking stuff, specially if I drink wine. Or maybe I should cut the wine and just stick to the spirits.

Musicwise it was a trip back to the 80´s, superfab!
And that was what made me recall that old Pet Shop Boys-song that Eight Wonder had a huge hit with, finding the lyrics and create a post of it when I finally hit my home sometime around 3 am.
I loooove that track! Both versions are great and I recall how much I liked the video with Patsy Kensit looking every part like an urban goddess and men in trenchcoats and sunglasses getting around in London.

I´m not scared

Take these dogs away from me!
(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah, Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah, Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah, Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah, Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)

Your life's a mystery, mine is an open book
If I could read your mind, I think I'd take a look
I'm not scared Baby,
I don't care
What have you got to hide? What do you need to prove?
You're always telling lies, and that's the only truth
I don't careB aby,
I'm not scared
Tonight the streets are full of actors
I don't know why
Oh, take these dogs away from me
Before they, they bite
What have you got to say of shadows in the past?
I thought that, if you paid, you'd keep them off our backs
Where do we have to be, so I can laugh and you'll be free? I'd go anywhere
Baby,
I don't careI'm not scared
(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah, Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah) I'm not scared (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
Tonight the streets are full of actors
I don't know why
Oh, debarasse-moi de ces chiens
Avant qu'ils mordent
Avant qu'ils mordent
Tonight I fought and made my mind up
I know it's right
I know these dogs still snap around me
But I can,
I can fight
If I was you, if I was you
I wouldn't treat me the way you do
If I was you, if I was you
I wouldn't treat me the way you do - you
If I was you, if I was you
I wouldn't treat me the way you do
If I was you, if I was you
I wouldn't treat me the way you do - you(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
I'm not scared (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah) Baby, I don't care (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
I'd go anywhere (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah) (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
Baby, I'm not scared (Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
J'ai pas peurJ'ai pas peur(Ah Ah Ah Ah - Ah Aah Aah)
I'm not scared

Raging Gonzagirl

Today was one of those bright and clear days from hell. You know when stuff can only go wrong, no other options available. One of those days you tackle with a stiff smile while silently screaming to the world to go fuck itself.
In other words, just another lovely day.

And that´s exactly why I´m gonna end it with one of my favourite movies ever, I´m specially into it when I´m pissed off.
Raging Bull. A total KO.

Have a good evening, world. Your favourite southpaw´ll be back tomorrow.
Bigger. Badder. Deffer. Call me Gonza LaMotta.

Salud!!!

What better than to make a toast with Pisco Sour!

Although it´s also claimed by the Peruvians to be theirs, I just say por favor - we´re all latinos (meaning chilenos y peruanos) and why fight about a great cocktail when you can enjoy it!!!!

Couldn´t find a good picture of how it should be served though, which is in a cocktail glass.

I do like the Mohai in the picture, the stone statue from the Isla de Pascua and I looooooove the Cordillera at the back.

That´s something I miss from Santiago, to be able to see the Cordillera, so majestic, so beautiful.

And from grandmothers balcony, the impressing view of the Oceano Pacifico.
Guess someone should really get her act together and plan a trip soon!

...and the winner is MICHELLE BACHELET!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am extremely proud of the chilenos that voted for her, leading to the country having its first female president! Now how cool isn´t that?! A catholic country, dominated by men for aaaaaaaages, that made divorce legal just last year, now with a woman as Commander in Chief, yeeeeey!

I wish Michelle Bachelet the best in leading the the most dramatically beautiful country at the end of the world. Suerte!!!

In the picture above Michelle Bachelet stands with President Ricardo Lagos, whom she will succeed and whom I had the great opportunity to meet in person when he visited in June 2005. Hope I get to meet Michelle Bachelet too one day, that would really be something!

(The picture is from Bachelet Presidente)

Mind your own business

This weekend I just had it with a friend. She´s been great and quite a support during rough times, but that doesn´t compensate the fact that she´s a terrible person when it comes to minding her own business. It´s like she´s got a weird idea that I somehow n-e-e-d her to tell me how, when, what and why I should do stuff and that she can just go on and interfere with my whereabouts.
Yeah, you heard me.
So I told her to get off my back and have a nice life. I already have a mother, thank you and the last thing I need is somebody breaking the cojones I don´t have. So so long, adios, adjö.

There are reasons why people say "curiosity killed the cat".

Bachelet vs. Piñeira

Just read on El Mercurio Online that the counting of the votes just started. Very, very, exciting! The fact that my native country has the opportunity to have a WOMAN for president is really cool, specially considering it to be a catholic, quite conservative country, ruled by a male oligarchy for hundreds of years.

I wish "La Bache" lots of luck, you just go girl!

That citizen of the world thing

In the Sex & the City episode "The power of Female sex", the character Amalita Amalfi says to Carrie "I´m a citizen of the world".
I thought about this the other day at a party while discussing what "being international" meant.
The ones of us discussing were all of different ethnic backgrounds, which made the conversation very interesting. For some "being international" was the equivalent of travelling a lot. For others it was knowing more than two languages. Some thought of it as a no frontiers thing. And others thought that you could not be an "international person" unless you could claim at least two different ethnic heritages.
Really, really interesting definitions. Love discussions like that because they get me to question my own thoughts and beliefs.

And what do Me, Myself and I thing about that? Well. I´m a legal alien. Or maybe I´ll just quote signorina Amalfi again: "I´m an International Party girl".
No more, no less.

Blogalicious!

For all my badass groovylicious homies (ya´all know who you are) check this out and enjoy!

....and the tests go on...

Why am I not surprised?! I looove fall. My favourite season by far.

You Are Fall!

Thoughtful
Expressive
Creative
Poetic
Smart

Now this ain´t no surprise to me either....meeeeooooow...

You Are Catwoman

"Life's a bitch. Now so am I."

But this is a bit scary! Specially since people have told me I do resemble the girl! Although I´m definitely not as skinny as she is and definitely don´t plan to be either.

Your Celebrity Style Twin is Nicole Richie

The perfect blend of uptown and downtown.

Working kitten

Feel a bit like the kitten on the picture - like being swallowed by a laptop. Am getting a new computer and I´ve been looking around for one that will suit me and my demands. Felt like a complete bimbo for a while but managed to get a grip and I actually think I might have found a new accessory. And a cool bag to go with it, yeeeey!

Otherwise, it´s been quite a good monday so far, have got a lot of work done and organized stuff I have to take care of tomorrow.

Now isn´t the picture (from Cute Overload) just totally adorable?! Felines are by far my favourite animals, they´re lean and mean (besides Garfield, that is) and do as they please. And they can be very cute and charming but do them wrong and they´ll show you a sharp claw.

The rest of the best of 2005

Found a great list for this at Cholitas' blog, here goes:

The very best thing that happened during 2005:
Easy, that must be quitting very boring job and the fact that I dared try going for being my own boss. And that my fathers recovery after the fire was quick and positive.

The very worse thing that happened:
The fire in Chile.

The most weird thing:
Blogging leading to getting in touch with Nikki again!

The most fortunate thing:
Getting new job opportunities because of friends believing in me.

The most fun thing:
I´m my own boss, yeah!

The best thing I bought:
Must be the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. We are inseparable and I fall in love with it everyday.

The best party:
Now this is tricky, how could I only chose one party since there were lots of great parties last year; surprise birthday party for Bridexena, Oriental party at Claudias, Midsummer party with big, fat, Gonzofamily, the Drinkar & Män-party at HKC, Charlotta & Pachi wedding party , etc, etc.

The best trip:
Didn´t get around too much last year, but the trip to Gothenburg for hang out with great friends was absolutely fabulous!

The best gift:
Another tricky one. But I have to choose the Goodfellas special edition dvd I got for Christmas. Or maybe the Nanso dress my parents gave me. Or maybe the hilarious "Mr Perfect" puppet that the Sparkling Sunshine brought me from one of her trips to the US. Or the überlovely scented candles Her Fabulousness Herself got me for my birthday.
(Actually just realized I got scented Voluspa candles + sleeping mask for her this Christmas, damn, had totally forgotten about my birthday gift...but you can´t have too many glamorous scented candles in the dark, winter season, can you?)

GWA

Gonzalita
With
Attitude

Inspired by NWA, SWV and BWV of course. Or was BWV actually BWA? Hm.

Maybe dra till Malmö?

Just talked with the most helpful and sweet lady in Malmö, owner of a beauty shop. And what can I say - I´m totally into skånska. The kind that you do understand though, hehe.
It´s been a long time since I visited Malmö, can´t really recall when the last time was. Maybe I should go, after all, if by any chance I´d get bored, Copenhagen is close.

I like to put my heels on the concrete - not in the dirt

In with the new, out with the old

Getting ready for New Years´ Eve can take quite a while, you don´t want to meet and greet the New Year at your worst, that´s why I had to stop my Best of 2005. But it´s to be continued.
The evening was really nice, with dinner at K´s and more champagne and bootieshaking at Berns. Missed Darling Nikki, though, hopefully she can come to the 08-area soon for some catch up and good times.

These days have totally been about work and getting loads of old stuff out. It feels like I´ve been throwing away tons of garbage. Lovely! It wasn´t too easy to empty the closet and get rid of garments I no longer want. Managed to fill two bags. Am very proud!

Looking around in the Blogworld, fellow bloggers Kicki (Her Fabulousness Herself) and Ninni also seem to have been in the mood for clearing out stuff, I laughed in a "do I recognize myself or what" at Kickis description of how you start with it and then get caught up in something else and then suddenly your home looks like a disaster. And I can imagine Ninni reading that Feng Shui-book, going "this is bollocks, I´m not doing that" at the incense ceremony-part and being highly effective.
